Description: Wisteria x formosa ‘Black Dragon’ is a vigorous, deciduous climber with palmate, mid-green leaves divide into ovate to lance shaped leaflets, pale green when young and turning yellow in autumn. Fantastic pea like, fragrant double lilac flowers, borne in usually pendent racemes in spring and summer, followed by bean like green seed pods.

History: Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

Wisteria Growing Tips: Grow in a fertile, moist, well-drained soil in sun or semi shade. May be trained into a large tree, on a wall, arch or pergola, or as a free-standing half standard.
