Floricane
Description: Tulameen is a popular, late summer season Raspberry with a long picking period of up to 50 days. The glossy red fruits are very large, sometimes the size of Cherries and have a unique conical shape. Excellent quality, lovely sweet flavours, thought to be one of the best tasting Raspberries! There are few spines mainly at the cane base. The fruits have an excellent shelf life, can be eaten fresh from the bush or cooked into sweet dishes, Raspberry jams, Raspberry gin or frozen. A great variety for beginners being easy to grow and great for small spaces or patio growing.
History: Bred in Canada.
Raspberry Growing Tips: Thrive in moisture-retentive, fertile, slightly acidic soils which are well-drained. Prefer being planted in sunny sheltered locations, although they will tolerate partial shade. Regular pruning will result in healthier and better quality plants. All varieties are self fertile and are pollinated by insects. Don’t forget to protect the fruits from birds if you would like to eat them yourself!
