Description: Tilia cordata ‘Greenspire’ is a vigorous and narrowly conical medium sized deciduous tree with glossy, dark green, heart shaped leaves, turning golden yellow in autumn. Creamy coloured, fragrant flowers appear in July.
History: A selected clone bred in Boston and introduced in the 1960s. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
Tilia (Lime) Growing Tips: Grows readily on light or heavy soils and will put up with temporarily soaking ground. Avoid growing in very dry conditions or exposure to very strong winds.
