Description: Syringa vulgaris ‘Primrose’ is a bushy deciduous tree with heart shaped leaves and small panicles of fragrant, single, pale primrose yellow blooms. These blooms, which are carried in large, rounded trusses, intensify as the plant matures, giving a more dramatic show of richer flowers each year.
History: Originated as a sport in the Netherlands. In cultivation since 1949. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
Syringa Growing Tips: Easy to grow in most well-drained, fertile, humus-rich alkaline to neutral soils. Thrives in chalky ground and appreciates mulching when planted in full sun
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 3m x 2m
