Description: Stella’s Star, also known as Hector’s Greengage is a self fertile greengage that is very productive from an early age. Turns slightly yellow when ripening. The flavour is not intense, but is compensated for by such a productive tree. Can be eaten fresh or cooked into pies and jams.
History: Introduced by the late plant breeder Hector Harrison in the 1990s. Named after his daughter.
