Description: Saint Edmunds Russet is one of the best English mid-season russet apple varieties. An attractive variety and one of the earliest russet apples to ripen. Pale-greenish yellow, becoming golden with a red russet and silvery sheen. Sweet, juicy, rich, densely textured and a pale cream flesh. A good variety for cider and juice!
History: Raised by R. Harvey at Bury St Edmunds, England. Recorded in 1875. Received First Class Certificate in 1875 and an Award of garden Merit in 1993 from Royal Horticultural Society.
