Description: A pretty small tree with a neat spreading habit. Attractive frond like, rich green leaves in summer turn purple-red in late autumn. White flowers are held in bunches in May-June followed by orange/red berries that are popular with birds.
History: Native to western China, and introduced by Ernst Wilson in 1904.
Sorbus Growing Tips: Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Hardy and tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions.
