Description: Quercus ‘Boscobel Royal’ is grown from material taken from the famous ‘Royal Oak’ at Boscobel House, Shropshire. The original tree was famous for being the hiding place of King Charles II after defeat at the last battle of the English Civil War in 1651 and gives it’s name to many UK pubs.
Quercus (Oak) Growing Tips: Grows best in deep fertile soil in mild areas, but will tolerate both dry and chalky soil and a coastal location.
