Great White Cherry
Description: A medium sized deciduous tree with a broad spreading crown, mid-green leaves in summer, then vibrant yellow and orange in the autumn. The flowers are very large, single, ice white and stunning when seen against copper coloured young foliage.
History: Re-introduced from the UK to Japan in 1932 by Collingwood Ingram. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
Prunus Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best flower display and autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk and clay.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 5m x 5m
