Full Description

Description: A narrow, conical tree with coppery young foliage becoming green, then yellow-orange in autumn. The single flowers are blush white, containing a distinctive pink centre, opening in mid-spring. Although used as a street tree it should have wider garden use.

History: Discovered as a seedling of Prunus serrulata Benden at the Kalmthout Arboretum of Belgium during the 1980s. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

Prunus Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best flower display and autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk and clay.
