Description: A strong growing tree with an upright then spreading habit, and ascending branches bearing unusual showy creamy white semi double flowers with green and pink shades emerging in late April. Young leaves are reddish brown, turning deep green then orange and scarlet in autumn.
History: Introduced in about 1914.
Prunus Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best flower display and autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk and clay.
