Clay tolerant
Description: ‘Chocolate Ice’ also known as ‘Matsumae-fuki’ is a stunning small feature tree with an upright habit in the early years spreading as it ages. In April-May, the large, showy flowers open blush white against the newly emerged red tinted, chocolate brown foliage. As the leaves age in summer they gradually turn dark green.
Prunus (Flowering Cherry) Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best flower display and autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk and clay.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 4m x 3m
