Description: Prunus ‘Asano’ is a graceful, upright, columnar tree with small abundant deep pink blossoms, packed with up to 100 petals in mid to late spring. Leaves are bronze when they emerge, maturing to dark green in summer.
History: Introduced in 1929 from Japan.
Prunus (Flowering Cherry) Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk, and clay.
