Disease-resistant
Description: Peasgood’s Nonsuch is the largest culinary apple. Fruit is pale green with broken red stripes and orange flush. Flesh is white, tinged green becoming creamy. Tender, moderately juicy, and a little sweet. When cooked makes a sweet, deliciously flavoured purée. Juicy when eaten fresh, good ingredient to accompany salads. An excellent garden and exhibition variety.
History: Raised by Mrs Peasgood at Stamford, Lincolnshire, England from seed in 1858. Exhibited at RHS London in Stamford Horticultural Society exhibit in 1872. Received a First Class Certificate in 1872 and an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993.
