Description: Morgans Sweet is an unusual cider apple. Large greenish-yellow fruits with freckled russet. Flesh is white, rather soft and juicy. Produces a light, fruity good quality cider. Although bred as a cider variety, it can be eaten fresh with a sweet tangy taste. It’s high nitrogen content means that the juice will ferment very quickly.
History: Probably originated from Somerset in the 18th Century. Parentage is unknown. For some cider-makers, it was popular for a source of early cider, ready in time for Christmas!
