Description: Dwarf, round, upright formed tree perfect for a patio. The red buds open to white flowers in the spring followed by yellow crab apples in the autumn. The lobed leaves are green in the spring and summer, but take on yellow autumnal tints.
History: Developed by James Zampini and introduced in 1991 by Lake Country Nursery, Perry, OH. Plant patent name “CInzam”.
Malus Growing Tips: Crab Apples are self-fertile, and very useful as pollinators for a variety of fruit trees. Full sun or part shade lover, best grown in fertile, moist, deep, loamy soils. Requires minimal pruning in late winter or spring to remove damaged, diseased or misplaced growth.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 2m x 1.5m
