Description: Malus ‘Celebration’ is a fine crab apple selected for its winter persistent and spectacularly attractive scarlet red fruit. Both the white blossom and fruit are similar, but superior to the well-known and deservedly popular M. ‘Red Sentinel’. Much loved by winter feeding birds well into January. The tree is neat and upright when young, healthy with consistently heavy crops year on year.
Malus Growing Tips: Crab Apples are self-fertile, and very useful as pollinators for a variety of fruit trees. Full sun or part shade lover, best grown in fertile, moist, deep, loamy soils. Requires minimal pruning in late winter or spring to remove damaged, diseased or misplaced growth.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 4m x 3m.
