M. x brooklynensis ‘Eva Maria’ x M. acuminata
Description: A compact, upright tree with very erect medium daffodil yellow flowers which appear in mid-May for three weeks.
History: Raised by Doris Stone at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in 1967 and registered in 1981.
Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
