Full Description

M. ‘Woodsman’ x M. ‘Elizabeth’

Description: Deep yellow, goblet shaped flowers, with a rosy purple blush at the base appear before the large, glossy green foliage emerges. Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters.

History: Bred by August Kehr, Carolina, USA.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
