History: M. liliiflora ‘Nigra’ x M. sprengeri var ‘Diva’. Bred by William Kosar at the U.S National Arboretum in 1963, introduced by Frank Santamour Jr. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit in 1993.
Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils.
