Description: Magnolia ‘Coral Lake’ is a medium sized tree with a spreading habit, produces upright, tulip shaped, peachy pink flowers with vertical yellow stripes, with a pleasant fragrance.
Parentage: M. ‘Legend’ x M. ‘Butterflies’
History: M. ‘Legend’ x M. ‘Butterflies’, possibly with some pollen from M. sprengeri var ‘Diva’. Bred by David G Leach and Curt Hanson.
Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
