Parentage: Cox’s Orange Pippin x Starking Delicious
Description: Jupiter is a popular garden variety with large Cox-flavoured apples, but a more robust variety. It’s skin is marbled red-yellow and flesh is sweet, juicy and aromatic. A strong growing tree performing well on all semi dwarf and dwarf rootstocks. Beautiful clusters of pinkish-white flowers arrive in the Spring.
History: Raised by Dr F Alston at East Malling Research Station in Kent in 1966. Later introduced in 1981 and two years later received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1983.
