Description: Invicta is one of the most popular varieties in the world. Produces a heavy crop of large, pale green, smooth skinned berries. Delicious sweet flavour, excellent for cooking into jams or freezing; keeps its shape. It’s very prickly, growth is vigorous and spreading. Known for it’s very high yeilds and resistance to mildew.
History: Bred in Kent around 1967. Recieved an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Gooseberry Growing Tips: A very easy fruit to grow. Thrive in many different types of soil, avoiding water logged areas. They are happiest planted in a sunny spot either training against a wall or in containers to take up less space in small gardens. If you would like to eat/cook the berries then make sure you protect them from the birds!
