Description: Golden Delicious is a well known, handsomely shaped eating apple. It’s tall, rich, yellow, slightly ribbed appearance makes this a distinctive variety. Flesh is cream, slightly tinged green with a crisp, juicy sweet, honey flavour. Flavour is superior to imported fruit when grown in the UK.
History: Seedling found by A.H. Mullins Clay County, West Virginia, USA in 1890. Possibly from seed of Grimes Golden. Later intoduced in 1914 by the Stark Brothers.
