Description: Garden Lady is a genetic dwarf peach which makes it the perfect tree for growing in a pot on patios. As with Nectarine Nectarella, if grown in a pot, this tree can be moved inside during the early spring. Beautiful pink flowers cover the branches during the spring. The fruit has yellowish flesh which is sweet and juicy and rosy pink skins. The stone clears easily from the flesh, freestone.
History: Discovered in New Zealand during the 1950s.
Peach Growing Tips: Suited to well-drained and moderately fertile soils in a full sun position. Fan training on a sheltered wall (except north facing) is recommended to avoid leaf curl. Picking times relate to growing under glass, therefore if planting outside at least two weeks need to be added. Early flowering outside makes these trees prone to frost damage. Fruit is best picked when still firm to final ripening indoors.
