Disease-resistant
Parentage: Worcester Pearmain x Beauty of Bath
Description: Discovery is an attractive, well rounded early dessert apple. Flushed with bright blood red with slight traces of dark red stripes. Flesh is creamy white, firm, fine-textured, crisp and juicy with a hint of strawberry flavour. An excellent apple with good disease resistance. A great garden variety as they are at their best when eaten straight from the tree!
History: Raised by Mr Drummer, Langham, Essex, England in about 1949. Renamed in 1962 and introduced by nurseryman J Matthews, Thurston, Suffolk. Received an Award of Garden Merit in 1993 from the Royal Horticultural Society.
