Full Description

Description: A small thorny, deciduous tree with shallow, three-to five-lobed, mid-green leaves. A mass of double pink flowers are produced in May that are often likened to tiny pink roses. Red haws follow the flowers and the foliage embraces yellow and bronze tones in autumn. A highly ornamental and robust thorn making an ideal garden specimen suitable for all situations.

History: Cultivated in the 1830’s and received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit in 2002. Previously known as Crataegus laevigate ‘Rosea Flore Pleno’.

Crataegus Growing Tips: Will tolerate a wide range of soils as long as they are well-drained, urban pollution and coastal conditions. Extremley hardy and ideal for the smaller garden. Prefer full sun or partial shade.
