‘Stricta’ Syn; ‘Fastigiata’
Description: This Hawthorn is very narrow and naturally erect in habit. It is a very tough variety so great for planting in exposed, windy sites as well as coastal areas. Deeply lobed green leaves turn yellow in autumn. Small, white, slightly fragrant flowers cover the tree in May. In autumn, small red berries hang in clusters. These are great as a natural bird feeder. Good for birds and pollinating insects.
Crataegus Growing Tips: Will tolerate a wide range of soils as long as they are well-drained, urban pollution and coastal conditions. Extremeley hardy and ideal for the smaller garden as naturally narrow in habit. Prefer full sun or partial shade.
Height (after 10 years): 5m x 2m
