Description: Dense, prostrate, semi-evergreen shrub that is excellent for ground cover. The leaves are small and glossy green, in early summer, turning an outstanding plum purple in the autumn. Masses of small, white flowers are produced in summer, followed by red berries. Both flowers and berries are good for wildlife.
History: Selected by W. Haalboom of Drierbergen, Netherlands. Introduced in 1948.
Cotoneaster Growing Tips: Best planted in full sun or partial shade, and thrive is fertile soils but will tolerate any soil as long as it’s well-drained.
