Description: A rare and unusual red leaved form of the contorted twisted stem hazel. This compact, deciduous shrub provides structure and colour throughout the year. Deep plum-purple foliage in early summer, becoming green tinted as the leaves mature, then bright purple in autumn, before falling to reveal an exquisite jumble of curiously twisted stems. Pink/purple catkins decorate the tree in late winter and early spring.
Corylus Growing Tips: Will grow well in most soils, preferring a moist, well-drained site. For the best foliage colour, plant in full sun.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 3m x 3m
