Description: A large deciduous shrub with a broad, vase-shaped crown. The oval foliage is dark green, turning striking shades of orange and red in the autumn. The flowers consist of four petal like bracts with a central round boss followed by attractive strawberry like fruits in autumn.
History: In cultivation since 1978. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
Cornus Growing Tips: Thrives in fertile, humus-rich, neutral to acid soil. Unsuitable for shallow, chalky soils.
