Description: Claygate Pearmain is a high quality dessert apple. It’s flavour is a juicy rich and aromatic with a nutty taste, flush orange-red over greenish-yellow. If you like the qualities of Blenheim Orange and Ribston Pippin, you’ll enjoy this apple too, its flavour is compared to the former. Showy pinkish-white flowers in the spring. Suitable for northern and colder area’s as its very hardy. A good cropper!
History: Disovered by John Braddick at Claygate, Surrey in 1921. Received an award to Horticultural Society that same year. Award of Merit was received from Royal Horticultural Society in 1901 and First Class Certificate from Royal Horticultural Society in 1921.
