Description: Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ makes a dramatic, small, often multi-stemmed tree. In spring, crimson, purple or pink flowers appear on the bare stems. The glorious heart shaped leaves emerge a glossy, vibrant ruby red and darken to a rich purple plum shade for the summer. In autumn they turn striking shades of orange, red, yellow and purple. Received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.
Cercis Growing Tips: Performs best in moderately fertile well drained soils. The best flower production occurs in full sun but part shade is best in hot summer climates.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 4m x 3m
