Description: This lovely redbud has a beautiful umbrella like growth habit, deciduous, often multi-trunked understory tree with a rounded crown. Rich maroon leaves unfurl in early spring, eventually becoming green with a white margin. Displays the elegant, broad, heart shaped leaves expected from a redbud tree.
History: Cercis is a genus Native to Eastern North America. A result of the combined efforts of NCNLA and NC State University.
Cercis Growing Tips: Performs best in moderately fertile well drained soils. The best flower production occurs in full sun but part shade is best in hot summer climates.
