History: Bred by the Chivers & Son of Histon in 20th century in Cambridgeshire. Trialed in 1927 by National Fruit Trials at Wisley. Thought to be a seedling of Old Greengage. Recieved an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1998.
