Description: Betula utilis var. jacquemontii ‘Trinity College’, a new selection with a gleaming white trunk from an early age. This form is upright, graceful and light in stature making it an excellent choice for small spaces. Retains its green foliage well into the autumn before they turn golden yellow. Perfect for any garden adding a stunning feature throughout the whole year.
History: Originated from a tree at Trinity College in Dublin. Grown from seed by Hooker from Kew around 1881.
Betula Growing Tips: They will succeed on most soils with certain species happy even in wet sites. Although tolerant of chalk soils they will not reach a maximum size in these conditions. Best planted in a full sun position.
