Description: Amelanchier canadensis ‘Glenform Rainbow Pilliar’ is an upright, neat, compact tree. An upright spray of white, scented flowers appear in the spring followed by green foliage. Yellow, red and orange foliage colours arrive in the autumn leaving an abundance of purplish red fruits which are edible, rather tasteless but perfect for birds.
History: Introduced from Ohio USA.
Amelanchier Growing Tips: They will thrive in moist, well-drained, lime-free soil. The best autumn colour is achieved when they’re planted in a full sun position but they do tolerate partial shade.
Height and Spread (after 10 years) : 4m x 3m
