Description: Albizia julibrissin ‘Ombrella’® is an exotic but hardy, small, shrubby tree which is occasionally described as the “Powder Puff Tree”. Delicate feathered foliage that looks especially attractive during the spring. Stunning, dense headed, deep pink flowers appear from July to September. Quite a spectacular and beautiful small tree. A magnificent variety that will add an exotic feel to any garden.
History: Discovered as a chance seedling at Bourquin Nursery in France. Received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Albizia Growing Tips: Grow best in warm, sheltered sites on well drained and even impoverished soils. Easy to train as an informal fan across a south-facing wall or fence. Very suitable for milder parts of the UK but must be protected from frost.
