Description: Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ is a classic green leaved Japanese Maple variety. Probably the most brilliant of all cultivars. A stunning blaze of long lasting, fiery scarlet foliage colours appear during the autumn. It has a slow growing, open habit which can look dramatic against a tall hedge or building. Perfect for small gardens or planting in a large container.
History: Introduced in 1882. Received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
