Description: Acer palmatum ‘Katsura’ is a delightful form of Japanese Maple with striking, spring growth. Five lobed leaves unfold a pale yellow with margins of brighter orange. As the season progresses into the summer, the leaves turn into yellowish green with enhanced bright yellow and orange colours in the autumn. The name ‘Katsura’ means a ‘Wig’.
Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
Height and Spread (after 10 years) : 3m x 2m
