Description: Acer ‘Esk Flamingo’ is a slow growing, deciduous snake bark maple which forms a small tree. Very attractive and striking shrub with lobed leaves variegated in pink, green and white in mottling and splashes. Its young stems are a vivid red, and the eye-catching bark is red with white markings along its length, providing colour even in winter and giving the plant its ‘snakebark’ title. The perfect choice for an all year round interest!
History: Formerly known as Acer conspicuum ‘Red Flamingo’
Acer (Maple) Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
