Description: Acer cappadocicum ‘Aureum’, also known as The Golden Maple, is a medium-sized tree with stunning autumn tints. The young emerging leaves are a stunning red, turning quickly to golden yellow for many weeks until they fall. It has a tidy, dome shaped canopy of narrow branches. A stunning spring and autumn tree.
History: Introduced in 1914. Received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultral Society.
Acer (Maple) Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
